Secure Servers are essential for e-commerce sites who require acceptance of personal data such as credit card information. We have our own certificated secure server location at https://secure.grade1.co.uk and we are able to offer sub accounts on this server for your use.

Do I have secure server access on my account?

Secure space does not come as standard. If you would like secure server access enabled on your account then this can be added on as an option. Full instructions on how to use your secure space will be e-mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

What is the URL of my secure server?

Once set up the URL of your secure server space is:-

https://secure.grade1.co.uk/~yourname/
(please not the extra 'S' in the https:// section of the name)

Can I put cgi scripts in my secure space?

Yes, simply upload your CGI script with a .cgi or .pl extension and set the permissions from the secure server control panel.

Can I have https://www.mydomain.co.uk

Your own secure server is available for £250 +VAT setup and £75 +VAT per quarter. All fees include digital certification costs.

What certificate authority (CA) do you use on your server?

We use Thawte Consulting as our Certification Authority (CA). Thawte Consulting is a recognized CA by 99% of all Internet browsers.
